About The Artist

Christina Luangrath is a 26 year old Lao-American artist currently based in Philadelphia. Having grown up on the east side of Oakland, CA and South Philadelphia, PA, Christina is heavily influenced by the cultures and communities she was raised in, highlighting her Lao American background with the urban art culture and history of the Bay Area and Philly. She is especially known for her textural use of gold pigments and foiling, which highlights the intricate details of Southeast Asian art and textiles. The subjects of many of Christina’s works are women, whose empowerment serves as her inspiration.
